Dr. Agatha Jassem is a Clinical Microbiologist and the Program Head of the Virology Lab at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control Public Health Laboratory. She is also a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Jassem oversees provincial diagnostic and surveillance services for sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections, respiratory pathogens, and vaccine preventable viruses. Dr. Jassem’s research interests include testing initiatives aimed at serving hard-to-reach populations and developing serosurveys in response to emerging viruses.
