Dr. Pouneh Dokouhaki is a renal pathologist at St. Paul’s Hospital, Providence Health in Vancouver, BC, with extensive expertise in transplant pathology and laboratory medicine. She holds both an MD and PhD in Immunology, completing her clinical fellowship in Renal/Liver and Transplantation Pathology at the University of Alberta and her residency in Diagnostic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to her current role, she served as Medical Director of the Provincial Immunodiagnostic Laboratory and Clinical Lead of the Laboratory Utilization Committee at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Dokouhaki has made significant contributions to the field through her research in transplant immunology, COVID-19 pathology, and laboratory medicine, with over 35 peer-reviewed publications and numerous research grants. Her leadership extends beyond clinical practice to national committees, including serving as a board member of the Clinical and Translation Sciences Division of the Association for Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine and as Region 2 Representative for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada’s General Pathology Specialty Committee.
