Research and Scholarly Interests: Protein biochemistry, Protein engineering, Science of Teaching and Learning, Analogous thinking, Ethical use of GenAI tools for learning
I am a long-standing university educator who has a taught a variety of courses in the areas of chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, and microbiology.
My previous research experiences span interests in protein biochemistry, protein engineering, and molecular biology. I also have research experience in the Science of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) where I explored innovative types of active learning techniques that promote analogous thinking in science courses.
My current SoTL interests focus on course design and development, mentoring future instructors, developing innovative learning and assessment techniques, and the ethical application of GenAI tools to improve learning.
