Dr. Kazem Nouri is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia and a Clinical Biochemist at Vancouver General Hospital. With a PhD in Biochemistry and extensive postdoctoral training, Dr. Nouri specializes in clinical chemistry, laboratory diagnostics, and molecular mechanisms of disease. His research focuses on protein-protein interactions, oncogenic signaling pathways, and the development of novel diagnostic approaches for clinical laboratory testing. Dr. Nouri has received numerous awards for his research, including the CIHR Fellowship and has published extensively in high-impact journals. At UBC and Vancouver General Hospital, he plays a vital role in teaching medical residents, fellows, and undergraduate students in areas of clinical biochemistry, laboratory medicine, and diagnostic methodologies while providing clinical laboratory consultation services.

Teaching Interest
Dr. Nouri is actively engaged in teaching across multiple educational levels at UBC and Vancouver General Hospital. He provides lectures on clinical chemistry, laboratory methodologies, and diagnostic approaches to medical residents, fellows, and undergraduate students. His teaching portfolio includes specialized topics such as protein and immunoglobulin testing, method validation, quality management in clinical chemistry, porphyria testing, and autoantibody testing. Dr. Nouri has extensive experience in problem-based learning tutorials and has supervised medical biochemistry fellows during their rotations. Previously, he served as a teaching assistant for problem-based learning sessions at McMaster University and has taught biochemistry courses at various institutions. His commitment to education extends to mentoring students and colleagues in both clinical and research settings.
