Dr. Eugene Yeung is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia. With a unique background spanning pharmacy, pharmacology, and medicine, Dr. Yeung specializes in medical microbiology with particular expertise in diagnostic microbiology, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection control. As a consultant at LifeLabs and a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, he leads educational initiatives in microbiology and plays key roles in mentorship programs. His research interests include blood culture diagnostics in pediatric populations, antimicrobial susceptibility, and emerging infectious diseases.

Teaching Interest

Dr. Yeung is actively involved in teaching across multiple disciplines and educational levels. At UBC’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, he serves as a Pharmacist Facilitator and Clinical Assistant Professor for the Canadian Pharmacy Practice Program, where he teaches international pharmacy graduates patient dialogue skills and professional laboratory activities. He is also the site educational lead for the BC community microbiology rotation within UBC’s Medical Microbiology Residency Program.
