Rong Yi is a Mass Spectrometry Scientist with expertise in clinical laboratory science and forensic chemistry. Currently serving as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UBC and as a Mass Spectrometry Specialist at St. Paul’s Hospital, her work focuses on developing and maintaining mass spectrometry assays for patient testing, while also providing technical training and support. Prior to joining St. Paul’s Hospital in 2022, she spent a decade as a Scientist/Official Chemist in forensic equine drug testing at Bureau Veritas. Her journey in mass spectrometry started from the beginning of her career when she worked as Research chemist/Scientist in various pharmaceutical and bioanalytical companies.
