My passion for discovery and innovation drives my work, whether I’m conducting cutting-edge research or inspiring the next generation of scientists in the classroom. With a strong foundation in Microbiology & Immunology, I have successfully navigated complex research projects and contributed to significant advancements in our understanding of microbial pathogenesis. I continuously seek to enhance my pedagogical skills, ensuring that my teaching practices are inclusive, effective and engaging.
I believe that digital skills are important for modern scientific research and education. Currently, I am expanding my skill set to include computational tools in my teaching practices, and provide my students with the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly technological world.

Teaching Interest
I am co-teaching and coordinating or co-coordinating the following courses in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine:
- Background to Medical Laboratory Science (PATH 300): Hematology, histochemistry and selected areas of clinical chemistry and relevant fundamentals of human physiology.
- Introduction to Human Pathology (PATH 375): Causes, natural history and pathophysiology of common disease processes.
- Diagnostic Histochemistry (PATH 404): Theory and practice of common histochemical techniques; experimental design, data analysis and presentation.
- Seminars in Current Topics (PATH 405): Oral and written presentation and critical appraisal of scientific papers.
- Research and Career Skills (PATH 408): Overall operation of research laboratories including roles of personnel and funding; communication of scientific research; career skills and pathways; communication, collaboration, presentations and peer-assessment skills.
Hematology (PATH 402): A theoretical and practical examination of those modern concepts of haematology which relate to the practice of medical laboratory science.
