Dr. Ling was born and raised in Vancouver. Seeking further education, Dr. Ling moved to pursue a BSc at the University of Alberta and later completed an MSc in Experimental Medicine at the HLI at St. Paul’s Hospital, under the supervision of Drs. Stephan van Eeden and Jim Hogg. Following this, Dr. Ling relocated to Dublin, Ireland for four years to attend medical school at RCSI. After graduation, Dr. Ling worked as a clinical trials coordinator at the BCCFE for just over a year, then matched to the medical microbiology residency program in Edmonton. Upon completing the residency, Dr. Ling was hired as a staff microbiologist at Vancouver General Hospital in August of 2022.
