Christine Tyson did her PhD in molecular cytogenetics at the Medical Research Council Mammalian Genetics Unit in Oxfordshire, UK. Following this, she completed her training as a clinical cytogeneticist at St Mary’s Hospital, and then worked as a clinical cytogeneticist in the Oncology Cytogenetics Laboratory at the Christie Hospital, in Manchester, UK. She later worked at the Bristol Genetics Laboratory as a clinical cytogeneticist, before moving to Vancouver to take up a research associate position in Dr Rajcan-Separovic’s laboratory in the Child and Family Research Institute at Children’s and Women’s Hospital. After leaving this position to pursue a Canadian College of Medical Geneticists (CCMG) fellowship in cytogenetics at Children’s and Women’s Hospital, she went on to work as a clinical cytogeneticist at Royal Columbian Hospital. In 2018 she completed her CCMG molecular genetics fellowship and now works as a Clinical Molecular Geneticist and Cytogeneticist in the Division of Genome Diagnostics, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
