Dr. Amir Karin is a Clinical Biochemist at Vancouver Coastal Health. He completed his doctoral degree at the University of Toronto where he specialized in biomolecular chemistry. He subsequently undertook post-doctoral training in the clinical chemistry fellowship program in UofT’s Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology. In 2020, he joined the Division of Clinical Chemistry at Vancouver General Hospital. Besides routine clinical service, he is engaged in clinical research. His main academic interests include clinical mass spectrometry, laboratory quality improvement, and patient safety. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC’s Faculty of Medicine, he also enjoys teaching medical residents and students.”
