Short Bio:

Dr. Hoang is a Pathologist and Clinical Associate Professor at Vancouver General Hospital and the University of British Columbia, offering subspecialty expertise in gynecologic pathology. She completed her pathology training at the University of British Columbia and fellowship training in gynecologic pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Hoang has worked towards integrating the advancing field of molecular diagnostics into daily pathology practice, in order to provide meaningful impact to patient care. Her work has helped to advance the molecular-based classification of endometrial carcinomas, aided in the discovery of a novel type of endometrial stromal sarcoma and propelled the re-classification of cervical adenocarcinomas beyond the traditional morphology-based WHO. She has an avid interest in translational research surrounding the lower genital tract (cervix and vulva) and her early work gained her the Robert Scully Young Investigator Award, bestowed the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists
