Dr. Emma Holmes is a Diagnostic and Clinical Pathologist at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (Interior Health) in Cranbrook, BC, and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UBC. She completed undergraduate degrees in Zoology and Physical Anthropology, both with distinction, at the University of Calgary in 2014, followed by her Doctor of Medicine at the Cumming School of Medicine in 2019. She then completed her residency in Diagnostic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Calgary, where she served as Chief Resident, and went on to complete a fellowship in Hematopathology in 2025. Dr. Holmes became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2025 and joined East Kootenay Regional Hospital in 2026. Her research has included the monitoring of circulating CAR-T cells by RT-PCR, presented at the Canadian Conference on Lymphoproliferative Disorders, and a review of immune globulin indications and utilization in Southern Alberta, presented at the Canadian Society for Transfusion Medicine. She has also published in the CMAJ, the Journal of Pediatric Surgery, and Papillomavirus Research.
