Dr. Laura Tapley is a Transfusion Medicine Physician and the Transfusion Service Medical Director at Kelowna General Hospital with Interior Health Authority. She brings specialized expertise in transfusion medicine, hematology, and internal medicine to her clinical practice. Dr. Tapley completed fellowship training in Transfusion Medicine at the University of British Columbia and Canadian Blood Services, following residency training in Hematology and Internal Medicine at the University of Manitoba, where she served as Chief Resident. Her research interests include transfusion therapy in hemoglobinopathies, fibrinogen replacement in postpartum hemorrhage, and treatment outcomes in hematologic malignancies. Dr. Tapley is actively involved in medical education, presenting regularly at national and international conferences, and contributing to the development of evidence-based transfusion protocols.
